Is that viral flying car video real or AI?
Clips of cars launching off ramps and hovering over traffic are everywhere. Here is how to read them.
Why the clips spread
A flying car is the perfect short-form clip: an instantly recognizable object doing something physically impossible, in a format that loops well. Some clips trace back to marketing demonstrations; a growing share are AI remakes — including ones made on this site.
How to check a clip
Start with the source, not the repost. Watch the wheels and body lines mid-flight — AI video drifts there first. Check the landing: a physically flat, over-smooth settle is a common tell. And look for the fixed, almost surveilled camera work that template generators favor.
Make your own instead
The honest version of the trend is making your own — upload your car, pick a stunt, and the clip is openly yours. Label it AI where the context calls for it.
